Sedimentary Insanity
It's still changing and getting a life of its own
I first wrote about this piece back in December 2024. In that post I talk about how I got the idea and where all the parts came from. Eventually I prepared it for printing which included brightening it up. Now it’s framed and setting out on its journey.
It has been on exhibit twice so far. First at Aquae Nguvu Gallery in Milwaukee’s Marshall Building in the Third Ward from May-July 2025, and it currently hangs at the Alverno College Art Gallery for the Director’s Invitational Exhibition called WOW! Women of Wisconsin, running Sept 5 through October 3, 2025.
I changed the title from Bosch Rock to Surreal Dreamscape to Sedimentary Insanity.
One of the most common questions I’m hearing is, “How many layers are in that photograph?” I counted, which amused the Art Director at Alverno…190 layers!
In the galleries, people who are attracted to it will stand there for a long time soaking in all the details and trying to make sense of it. They have questions, I have answers, and hilarity ensues. I also hear that they are interested in seeing more of this from me. I had so much fun creating it, so this sounds like a wonderful idea to me!

That's the best feeling!!
I think I’m one of those people who could just stare at it for hours. Well done, Cindy.
